ENOUGH

Chris loves music! He taught himself how to play the piano and is a worship leader at his church. Chris is currently in the process of writing and recording worship music.

“I came to Wanake to work as the heath director. I was searching for experience in the medical field before going to nursing school to become a medical assistant. As I left high school, I felt a change was needed before I started college in the fall. I was trying to move on to bigger things during my transition into adulthood. I was going through a hard time, and I constantly felt like I wasn’t enough.”

“I soon found that being the health director at a summer camp was more complicated than I had originally thought. I not only had to learn to properly take care of myself, but I was now responsible for routine health care, injuries, and sicknesses of campers and staff throughout the camp weeks. I ended up growing and maturing in many ways during that summer. I feel as though that summer was the time when I transitioned from a young adult to a full adult. While I may not have felt like enough when the summer started, by the end of the summer I found that I was enough, with God.”

“That summer transformed me in so many ways. I went from not feeling ready to be on my own to being ready to take on bigger and better things. With God’s help I continued to care for those around me who were struggling. In the years following that summer I took in three kids that had difficult home lives and were suicidal and mentored them, helping them know that they are loved. The first song I wrote, “Your Love is Enough”, helps remind myself and those who hear it that God’s love is enough.”
