This week is for mobile and self-sufficient individuals with moderate developmental disabilities who must have the stamina to do a +1 mile hike and provide self care. The week includes swims, cookouts, crafts, and daily Bible time. Campers live in an air conditioned Retreat Center, which is their home-base for the week. We will also rock climb, canoe, and ride on the Wanake wagon.

Camp Alumni

As a parent, sending my child to Camp Wanake was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The care and attention the staff provided were exceptional. The camp not only offered a diverse range of activities that kept my child engaged and excited but also fostered a sense of responsibility and independence. The communication from the camp was outstanding, keeping me informed about my child's experiences and achievements. Camp Wanake truly creates a positive and enriching environment for kids, and I wholeheartedly endorse it for any parent looking to provide their child with a summer filled with joy and personal development.

Camper Parent

I had the privilege of attending Camp Wanake as a counselor, and it was an experience that left a lasting impact on me. The emphasis on character-building, leadership, and inclusivity was evident in every aspect of the camp. The training provided for staff members was thorough, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both campers and staff. The opportunity to witness the personal growth and self-discovery in the campers was incredibly rewarding. Camp Wanake goes beyond just fun activities; it instills values and life skills that stay with individuals long after they leave. It's a place where bonds are formed, challenges are conquered, and memories are made to last a lifetime.
